The Atoms Initiation Program gives young players an opportunity to learn the sport of ice hockey in a supervised, developmental, and nurturing atmosphere. The structure of the program will be "clinic-style", focusing on skill development including skating, passing, puck handling, and shooting. Using "Border Patrol" rink dividers, that divides the ice surface into halves or thirds, lighter pucks, and sometimes smaller goals, we’ve shrunk the game of ice hockey into a sport that your child can learn to love at his or her own pace! Divided into two 10-week sessions (fall & winter), individuals can sign up for either or both sessions. Each session will have 10 one-hour practices. Practices are combined so all players are on the ice at the same time. Each session will have a few in-house games, with the registrants divided equally into teams to play either cross-ice games or half ice games. If necessary, we will re-balance the in-house teams in the second session to accommodate new players, and to spread the stronger players throughout the teams.
Session 2 (Winter) Saturday Mornings 8:20-9:20AM Session 2 Dates: Jan 12, 19, 26; Feb 2, 9, 16, 23; March 1, 8, 15
